Established in June, 1997 and based in Shanghai, SAIC-GM is a 50-50 joint venture between GM and SAIC that has long established itself as a key leading player in China’s automotive industry.
SAIC-GM produces and sells vehicles under GM’s global brands Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac in China. It has successfully localized GM’s cutting-edge global technologies, including Ultium and Super Cruise™, and deployed its own “in China for China” technologies like the Xiao Yao super architecture that underpins a full range of electrification solutions.
Established in November, 2002 and based in Liuzhou, Guangxi Autonomous Region, SAIC-GM-Wuling is a three-way joint venture between SAIC (50.1%), GM (44%), and Guangxi Automobile Group (5.9%), producing and selling vehicles under the homegrown brands Wuling and Baojun.
SAIC-GM-Wuling aims for growth in both passenger and commercial vehicles while elevating its brands and technologies. It holds a remarkable track record of local innovations, including the Wuling Hong Guang MINIEV, the best-selling NEV nameplate of GM in China. A company known for delivering precisely what people need, it continues to meet highly dynamic market needs with speed and can-do spirit.
